Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit theexpertdesk.com, for what purpose, and what rights you have. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for visitors in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

Using this website

You can use this website without telling us who you are. There are no user accounts, comments or contact forms for visitors, so we don’t collect names, email addresses or similar details from you.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Rocket.net on servers in Sydney, Australia, and delivered through the Cloudflare content delivery network. Each time a page is loaded, technical information is recorded automatically in server log files, in particular:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • page or file requested
  • referring web address
  • browser type and version
  • operating system

This data is needed to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix technical problems. It is not combined with other data sources. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in operating the website securely).

Fonts

To display text consistently, this website loads fonts from Google Fonts, a service provided by Google. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which means your IP address is transmitted to Google. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a consistent presentation of the website). More information: Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising and conversion tracking

We advertise this website on platforms such as Google Ads. When you arrive by clicking one of our ads, the web address contains campaign information and a click identifier set by the ad platform (for example Google’s “gclid”).

We use the tracking service RedTrack to measure how well our ads work. A RedTrack script, delivered from secure.click-flux.com, records your visit and your clicks on links to a manufacturer’s store, and stores a cookie in your browser so that the visit can be linked to a later purchase. If you make a purchase, the manufacturer or its affiliate network informs us that a sale took place – we don’t receive your name, address or payment details. We may report the sale, together with the click identifier, to the ad platform that showed you the ad.

The RedTrack script also loads a helper script from Meta (delivered via unpkg.com), which can set Meta’s “_fbp” cookie. This cookie can be used to attribute visits and purchases in Meta’s advertising systems.

The data processed includes your IP address, device and browser information, the pages you visit, the time of your visit, the ad or website you came from, the click identifier and whether a purchase took place. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in measuring and improving our advertising). More information: Google Privacy Policy, Meta Privacy Policy.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This website uses the following cookies:

  • rtkclickid-store (RedTrack) – links your visit to an ad click and a later purchase
  • _fbp (Meta) – attribution in Meta’s advertising systems

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The website will still work without them.

Links to manufacturers’ stores

Our reviews contain links to manufacturers’ official stores. These links run through the tracking links of the manufacturer or its affiliate network, so that a sale can be credited to us. When you click such a link, the store and the affiliate network process your data under their own privacy policies, which we have no influence over.

Data transfers outside the EU

Some of the service providers named in this policy, such as Rocket.net, Cloudflare, Google, RedTrack and Meta, are based in or process data in countries outside the European Union, including Australia and the United States.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Visitors in Australia can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, the services we use or legal requirements change. Last updated: October 2026.
